12 Ways to Celebrate New Years Eve Indoors

I think we can all agree on one statement, 2020 has been quite a year! I personally started off 2020 very motivated- planner ready, motivational quotes on hand, and a list of goals to accomplish. While I can’t say that I was able to check all of my goals off, I am ready to find a way to celebrate 2020. It’s important to recognize your wins and reward yourself. Many of us won’t be celebrating in the same way we did in the past so I’m sharing a few ways to party indoors, safely.

Once you read the six ideas listed below, head over to my friend Tricia’s blog ‘Happily Ever Style’ to see the remaining six ideas! Let me know how you decide to bring in 2021!

1.Game Night

I am sure you have played a lot of games this year, but why not end this year off on a really fun note?! Pick one game or a few of your ultimate favorites and have a marathon.

Not only do games make you laugh but they are also a great way to build stronger bonds with friends and family. Pictionary with a side of prosecco and popcorn anyone?!

2. Cocktail Making & Drinking Games - via Air BnB

Yes, New Year's eve is known for champagne but why not get creative and learn how to craft a cocktail virtually via Air BnB?! It’s something that you will also put to good use in 2021. Trust me, I finally learned the correct (and cool) way to open up a shaker like a real bartender after taking a class. Pick your liquor of choice and get ready for some fun! See some classes below that are under $30 per person

  1. Mezcal & Tequila Cocktail Masterclass

  2. Holiday Cocktails at Home

  3. Hands-On Cocktail Class

3. Sex and The City Marathon

Have you seen all of the New Years Eve episodes from Sex and the City?

Well, if you haven’t, this may be the perfect time. Better yet, just have a marathon. But make it a true Sex and the City vibe by throwing on your best Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda outfit and have a few cosmos as well! Sex and the City maybe 22 years old but the shows are still 100% relatable.

4. Pajama Party

When was the last time you threw a pajama party? Probably back in high school right? Let’s take it back and throw a PJ party. The dress code will be your coziest pajamas and slippers Make sure to get all your favorite snacks too- every kind of chip, Sour Patch Kids, cookies, ice cream, and everything else you desire. No pajama party is complete without a pillow fight and maybe a round of truth-and-dare.

5. “Travel” to another country

This year, many of us haven't had the opportunity to travel. However, that does not mean we can’t get a little creative! Pick a country you were hoping to travel to and create an atmosphere to resemble that country. If you’re feeling spontaneous, close your eyes and point to a place on a map. Make a playlist with that country's traditional music. Cook a traditional dish- maybe paella from Spain, or pad Thai from Thailand? Set your tv screen to a scenic shot from the country- may be the Eiffel Tower or the beautiful beaches of Bali? Fill the room with the scent by buying a candle that smells like the country’s flower.

6. Create a vision board for 2021 and write a letter to yourself

I think setting intentions and having goals are tools for being successful. Take a minute to write a love letter to yourself about how you felt about this year, the emotions you went through, the changes you experienced, and the things you learned. Make sure you also write down any goals that you have for the following year. Then let's get a little crafty. Search through old magazines or newspapers and cut out anything that you find motivating and words you relate to. Glue them down on a piece of paper and refer back to it when you need motivation in 2021.

Thank you for reading!!
